Vintage Accents - Lamps, curtains and clock

We have a growing collection of unique lamps and other vintage treasures that adorn our shop and make it part museum and part store. It is fun to see the vast variety in teapots, lamps and clocks. Here are a few pieces we our enjoying. 

 Such a fun lamp! Love the little lantern look. It has a regular sized socket in it though you could put a low wattage bulb in so it serves as a soft accent light. I love that feature in many vintage lamps that have a soft night light that lights the globe or glass accents.

 Picked up this fun clip on lamp shade and found it a home on this little lamp.

 Great vintage curtain panels from an estate. Found their way into my little hideaway room at the shop.

 And what a fun clock! It runs so quiet and has a wonderful presence!

 Do you remember pole lamps? Oh yeah!

Antique Dietz Driving Lamp

This interesting rusty lamp left our shop today. It's the only one we had so kind of hate to see it go but went to a good home!

Getting out my trusty magnifying glass helped me identify it as a Dietz Driving Lamp. And researching indicates its from the early 1900s. Glad I snapped a few shots!

Pink and Green Vintage Kitchen

Thought it would be fun to share this retro kitchen complete with wallpaper. Pink oven and stove top along with metal cabinets in soft pale pink and green. Enjoy!

Proctor and Gamble Ivory Crate

This large crate (12" x 18") belonged to my grandmother. It has the word IVORY imprinted on both ends and one side has the Proctor and Gamble logo. It resides in my office as a side table.

Period Design and Flatware Identification

As a Downton Abbey fan, I enjoyed an additional program on the manners of Downton which included identifying the various pieces of silver.

I have a small book published in 1947 titled "The Story of Sterling" which had a two page spread identifying various items in flat silver as well as a brief look at period designs. I thought it would be fun to share here for those that have an interest.

So, in an earlier post I though I had completed this doll when I added her umbrella but....

I decided she needed one more accessory, lol!

Now she feels complete!
